We’re excited to share that the Rapid infrared IMAger Spectrometer (RIMAS) is now installed on the Lowell Discovery Telescope (LDT). Built by a team from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and the University of Maryland, and led by Dr. Alexander Kutyrev, RIMAS captures both images and spectra in near-infrared light. This powerful addition expands the LDT’s ability to study everything from gamma-ray bursts and supernovae to brown dwarfs, dusty star-forming regions, and distant solar system object
